Times are sure changing inside the school buildings around
the world. The way students interact
with the teacher and the tools they use are constantly changing. I believe it’s my job to help students come
up with ways they can share the information they are learning. What I have to remember is that students can
show me that information in many ways.
There is no specific technology tool that they need to use to show me
the information they acquire.
All four articles provide information to me on how the world
of technology is changing. I especially
like the information presented in “The
journey from Digital Literacy to Digital Fluency”. She talks about not doing away with her good
teaching just incorporating technology into those good student lessons. As we
teach and students learn in this new digital age isn’t that what all teachers
are striving to do? I know I am. The article on the eight ways to inquiry
learning also brings home the fact that we are teaching kids in new ways thanks
to technology and directly ties in and brings home the fact that kids are learning
in new and exciting ways and as teachers we need to understand that students
have the power to learn and explore thanks to today’s technology. I believe the correlation between all the
articles relates to teaching students critical thinking skills so they can
learn to explore the information they find and then share what they have
learned.
These articles directly relate to my learning goals of
finding as much information as I can about the technology in the world we live
in and add resources to my personal learning network.
