Reflective Searching

So what did I learn about myself this week when it comes to searching the internet?  Unfortunately, I learned that I am probably the worst searcher of all time.  I waste so much time because of my search skills.  I think you could compare them to a bunch of teens.  I don’t take enough time to think about my search words.  But in my defense I seem to always be multi-tasking even this week I’ve been trying to work on college work and find all these terrific free iPad apps (my school is purchasing new ipads for our classrooms).

I learned so much this week from the video “Even Better Search Results”.  As I was watching the video my husband was looking over my shoulder --- finally he said send me that link.  He ended up watching the video too.  He has now passed it on to some of his work buddies.  Just goes to show ---- you never know who or how a resource is going to impact its viewers.

The information on the filter bubble was eye-opening to me.  I’d never really noticed that some people’s google searches are different from others.  I can’t wait to see some of my MRS friends next week and do a test drive to see what happens.

  1. The filter bubble was an eye opener for me as well. I did not realize that every person has different information come up after doing a google search.
